I talked to a few friends who are also TMs who were part of the "technical rehearsal" over the last few days. Every one of them said Monsters was a next level experience and one of the best rides they've ever been on. A few mentioned the animatrics as being unbelievably realistic anecdotes were impressive Over all sounds like this is gonna be where I head first (a few also remarked ithat the ride motion is bit more aggressive than FJ(

Did they say anything about it going upside down? That's the only spoiler I want

The rest I'll see when I visit the park for myself. Kind of want a level head with this hype level

So in his review of Monsters Unchained, Drew Smith said it’s ’not only the best attraction at Universal Epic Universe’ - does that mean that Battle for the Ministry has also been operating during mock service this week?

Based on recent rumblings on the forum about BFTM, I would say no, or at least not assessable to TMs.

That’s what I thought, but it’s bold to state that Monsters is the best attraction in the park if you haven’t ridden the other major headliner.

Based on what happened to Forbidden Journey, where the motion was so intense at opening that there was projectile vomit hitting the dome screens, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say no. Can’t imagine they want to deal with having to stop the ride because unsuspecting people keep getting sick on it during what is sure to be a very crowded park for a long time.

Though I’m not saying this from any informed POV, just a guess.

Intensity of motion aside, I wonder if this will be less nauseating than FJ because it lacks the simulator sections. For me FJ is very enjoyable until the first screen carousel, then I start to feel a little nauseous going through the physical section after it. I progressively feel more and more woozy after each screen section. I think the motion sickness I feel is not from the screen sections or the physical sections, it’s from the screen sections not always being in sync and then having to go through a physical section immediately after.

If Monsters doesn’t have any simulator sections, I wonder if it’ll be overall tamer than FJ despite featuring more aggressive movements. Because again, my trouble with FJ is the combination of the slightly out of sync simulator with the physical ride-thru sections. Neither bother me when on their own, which is why I usually don’t start feeling sick until the Quidditch scene.

I wonder if Monsters will be more comparable to Spidey, where we slow down in front of certain scenes, observe them, and keep moving. Except the SCOOP is replaced with a kuka arm.

Man , am i super jealous of all those folks that get to enjoy the park today. Absolutely gorgeous weather day too. Can’t wait to hear impressions.

Speaking of … should we start a separate thread for park impressions and reviews, I realize the park isn’t open yet , but I imagine there will be a lot of “impressions” on social media over the next several weeks

I think this or a general TM Previews thread makes most sense.

Some of the unpleasant sensations from FJ might be caused by the fact that although the screens and wind effects are visually saying you're moving forward, you're actually moving sideways. You're body is subconsciously picking up on that and the information its receiving from your physical senses vs visual senses can lead to discomfort, especially if it's someone already susceptible to motion sickness. I don't have that issue but sometimes I'll get a brief moment where the physical sensations don't feel right for what's happening onscreen; not uncomfortable but noticeable.

It sounds like Monsters doesn't try to trick you to think you're moving differently than you are so theoretically it should be a smoother ride that won't leave you (as) woozy, if at all.

As for everything else, it's honestly a wait and see how efficient things are. Coasters with two across seating can honestly be a crap shoot compared to coasters/rides with four across seating, I've been on some where they're not too bad, and then there's Hagrid which was terrible.

I think single rider wait has a lot to do with TM's. Some just aren't good at it, some are great, and some rides will notice a back-up and push thru a lot of singles. Hagrid has lot of factors that make it a difficult single line, as does V-coaster.

I don't think Universal is messing around this time when it comes to leaks.

Anyone who is foolish enough to try and leak photos or video is going to face some severe repercussions, especially if it's a TM.

I saw one leak of the new Harry Potter land all empty at night on TikTok. It might as well have been the real Paris.
