I'm waiting for 1 (USF & IOA) + 2 (Epic).

Trust me I’d be happy with 2 Epic only as well.

You know what would be a really crazy strategy?
Letting people book what they want.

This is already giving the park a bad rap. Seeing comments on my videos like “I want to go but they only let you go one day so guess I never will.”

People will think this is forever because it’s setting the tone from the start.

Universal: We made the biggest, most immersive theme park ever, with over 50 experiences!

Guests: Wow, that could take us several days to experience!

Universal: You get one.

Guests: Nevermind then.

I always hate to see people lose their jobs. But if this craziness continues, and Comcast doesn't get the results they expect of their many billions invested.....heads will probably roll....They just don't get it...or there's a bunch of Execs that are stubborn and/or lack common sense. They are playing with fire. Sounds like they have a predetermined script they're working, and just working their way down their list....to whatever. You can already see there's a hotel room booking weakness overall (except for HHN, which isn't in Epic). ...Contrarywise, WDW has strong booking for the summer reportedly......Did Universal bring the Escape marketing people back from the dead? This is like Death Wish moves.....Good for me. By the time we go in November they'll be so many pissed off people, the lines should be short................The Boy who lived saved Universal. The Exec. that roadblocked Epic guest visits just might be undercover on Disney's payroll.......................Disney has to be laughing behind closed doors on this ticket fiasco confusion.

Universal seems to make a career out of fouling up their park openings. (I'd guess the majority of Fl Residents who go to Universal have APs so not sure who this is directed at. If they have the AP, it's a no. If they don't they'r probably only interested in Epic)

Not allowing for 1 day park tickets during January (the busiest vacation planning month of the year ) was already a risky strategy.
People that want to plan multi day visits are going to do so regardless , so this is really just delaying their potential revenue. I really don’t see the point.

I would be happy for a 5 day pass with 3/2, if they want to do packages, i think they should entice buyers that if you buy more days, you get more Epic days...doesn't make sense that if you buy a 2 day or 5 day pass, you only get 1 Epic day pass.

We weren't going to Disney and opted for doing Universal this time around but with all this teasing, we might end up doing 1 Disney day now.

... it's almost like if you actually cared about the attraction quality installed, you wouldn't have to worry about people not showing up to your oldest park?

That is precisely what I want.

2 days at Epic.
2 days for USF/IOA/HHN.
1 day for USF/IOA/whatever

Yes! You want people to spend as many days at UOR/IOA as they want for EPIC?
Sell at ticket that LITERALLY let's them do that!

If they did a MATCH combo-ticket where you GET as many days at EPIC as you BUY for UOR/IOA, we'd be in a whole new ball-game with an entirely different guest reception and fan morale atm.
Why this wasn't their strategy to keep guests at UOR/IOA from the getgo is seriously beyond me.

EDIT: Truthfully, a DISCOUNTED ticket for UOR/IOA when purchasing tickets for EPIC could have been a game-changer in regards to ideas to fight self-cannibalization and might be their ONLY weapon left in their arsenal at this point.

What's telling is that the stories of ticket confusion are coming from 'always Universal loyalists' ,that have a far reach, like @Alicia....and a number of our posters that are travel agents trying to work through this discussion with their clients. Sounding like Universal Execs. have become very insular on this and aren't paying attention to any outside noise....even though the results are short of expectations. ........Hint to Universal, time is running out. Put a calendar in your office. It's not 2023-2024 anymore.

I can't speak for everyone, but if I'm a Florida resident without an AP I'd rather visit WDW between now and May versus the hot summer months. WDW is offering $225 for 3 days ($75 per day) or $240 for 4 days ($60 per day).

Universal's offer of $352 for 3 days at UOR ($118 per day, 1 park per day) is pricey for a consumer that is used to cheaper offers. (FYI - this is the cheapest ticket price, the summer averages around $454, or about $151 per day).

This is one of those instances where the math is mathing but doesn't paint the whole picture as Epic is the brand, new, shiny toy.

All of this news regarding the new form of tickets has me hoping the single day normal ones are around the corner.

My issue is with the pricing on multi-day tickets, FL residents should be fine purchasing just a single day ticket to Epic instead. I can somewhat justify the min. 3-day ticket packages for non-FL residents, but for FL residents it doesn't make as much sense.

I just don't see that many FL residents paying $118+ per day for the other 2 parks they're used to going with an AP or a cheaper price point.

Not to derail the ticket discussion but I've been blue-skying (is that a word?) ideas for where Wicked would go in our resort. I'm going off the assumption the quote of "significant" attractions means a land and not a single attraction. The 3 most obvious ones I can think of are:

LC replacement: Zelda rumors have gone dry so maybe this is a better idea. Plus you kind of have a theater + room for an e ticket right there

Epic expansion: self explanatory. More room to be creative.

MIB + FF plot: In theory they can use this area as a major expansion while also closing off the site for construction without disrupting the park. HHN would be affected but that's an issue for later.

Let me know where yall think is best of if there's a better idea.

I mean, this thread is about Epic Universe ticketing, so we would appreciate it if we kept the discussion on that. Please take this discussion to the appropriate thread...

They'll be able to. I don't know why they are waiting so long to do so, but they are going to be able to.

I assume this is all so they don’t have to do reservations— I understand the frustration but reservations that filled up months in advance would have been worse.

I'm curious to see if they could still implement a reservation system. People would hate it, but it might be a requirement. At least for the summer.

I just find this delay, whether intentional or not, to be off-putting for many people who want flexibility in their visit.

The tickets already act as a way to limit capacity though since they are dated.

Rolling out the multi-day tickets first is just a strategy to convince people to stay at UOR longer, versus just 1 day at Epic.

I personally believe the right strategy would have been to offer APs after x number of days after opening day with a temporary reservation system through the end of the year for annual passholders. (free to visit without AP after x time every day, etc.)

Epic opening day capacity is set to around ~25K. After the first few weeks, doubt we see them able to attract 25K different people each day.
