You don't like the space fish?

Imagine the food was the best food in the world, would you still not dine there because it doesn't scream 'class'? Lol

It's a theme park, maybe one of the classiest by the looks of things but theme parks in themselves aren't exactly petri dishes of class.

Just my opinion, but it's a poor design decision. I liked the restaurant until they did the fish thing. It's OK I guess if it's just a so so price restaurant. But those fish take away from it having a classy look like Mythos...... Joking, but it would be like they turned the MK Tiki Bird attraction into a chicken joint with all the birds overhead. :lmao:

I'm honestly curious how expensive these restaurants will be. Atlantic and Blue Dragon I feel like will be very pricey.

Universal's restaurants are, thankfully, more reasonable priced than most Disney offerings. Average UOR in-park table service entree price:
  • Confisco $23
  • Mythos $28
  • Finnegan's $24
  • Lombard's $29

A contrarian opinion: The fake fish moving above do nothing for me. I think I'll probably dine elsewhere.

I think it's an ok touch that might end being a "why on earth did they spend money on this" situation. Too early to say though. I will say that I'm not a big fan of the boxy exterior, but we shall see.

I always have trouble determining what restaurant to eat at. I like most of them. The chintzy overhead fish will help me make a decision by eliminating one choice. :lmao:

IDK, I expect a theme park restaurant to still feature a bit of whimsy. No one is going to be eating in this restaurant with a tux.

If I walked in and just saw the fish, I'd think it's a fine touch. But hearing it described* as just another way Universal immerses you in this heavily-themed, victorian aquarium meant to take you back to a time when poor children worked in factories and only the rich knew what a live fish looked like has turned me against it.

*Exaggerating for humor purposes

There's a history to the Tiki Bird attraction, so you know that is a loaded comparison, Mad Dog!
What i think you meant to say is "What if we had a restaurant IN an aquarium but we ALSO had fish on the menu?"
wait a second...

That being said, this isn't the Rainforest cafe. lol
The glass sculptures are nothing more than an eccentric chandelier or hanging mobile to decorate a room.
It reads a touch judgmental to be like "NOT FOR ME, I'M NOT GOING" when it has nothing to do with the food. lol
It's a theme park: they're being tacky just as much as they're being creative; Let's not miss the forest for the trees, here.

EDIT: I don't plan on going on the Carousel found in the center of the park, but i'm not going to post that the reason i'm not going on it is cause it's aesthetically displeasing IYKWIM.

people are allowed to say what they don’t like about something and how it affects their decisions. otherwise, again, what are we doing here?

Thanks Jake !:)...... I did say, repeatedly, that it's just my opinion, and said it's a contrarian view for sure .....and I clearly joked about everything with laughing emojis and even used the word 'joking'. ...and it sure did spur the discussion. But that's what discussion forums are about.... if done in a 'friendly' way. I sometimes state views that I know that are against the majority....but I'm not shy about it and I'm thick skinned enough that jabs don't bother me. But I do think it's a poor design decision and doesn't need to be a marketing feature like Universal is treating it.:) ;)

I don’t love it either tbh, but, it does fit how this entire park will have an overwhelming amount of kinetic energy.

Honestly that’s a huge point that’s been missing in these past few discussions. I think sometimes it’s the little things that we take for granted just for the sake of being a little pessimistic.

While the moving fish are not the best thing since sliced bread I do feel it will add to the restaurant’s atmosphere and be yet another area where Universal didn’t spare any expense.

The prices I’m sure will be fairly reasonable compared to anything on Disney property.

I guarantee most people will look up, notice them, and then move on and forget they are even up there.

It’ll be a cute, fun moment of kinetics, until they disable the effect in 5-10 years.

I really do wonder when they'll annouce details about this... It's just pretty exciting that the park could be soft opening as early as next month. I just want to know how they're going to handle it when it's happening
