I definitely wouldn’t expect softs by October. This thing is a prototype, so they’re gonna test it like CRAZY. Not to mention there’s potentially a ton of theming still missing. I expect softs in February 2026, opening in April 2026.

What's the prototype when it comes to this coaster? Intamin has made other launched coasters with this exact same train and system.

But AFAIK, never outside, and never in California, which has a lot more regulation about things than other places.

The prototype is more in the nature of this being a much more “thrilling” version with inversions and direct rotating.

Think how Time Traveller was a prototype for Mack-Rides, as it was something they had never done before.

The first picture is literally outside. . .and every state has their own set of regulations.

Bigger, faster, states does not make a prototype a prototype.

Time traveler was not a prototype. It was just a version of their spinning coasters with a launch and inversions. We can't call different layouts of an existing coaster/train type a prototype or claim something is a prototype because of construction regulations.

Examples of prototype coasters are the Axis coaster, Batman the ride SFGA and SFFT, the Surf coaster seaworld, Xcelerator knotts,

This is not a "first of it's kind" nor is it a prototype. Is it a unique and not run of the mill coaster due to the location? Yes, but again, it is not a prototype.

Gonna actually disagree with you on a few things. The big one out of the way, is that Time Traveller for all intents and purposes--was the first installation of a different "type" of Mack-Rides spinning coasters.

The differences between that of a traditional Mack-Rides spinning coaster and that of the Xtreme Spinning Coaster. While there was a "test" version of it done with Blue Fire for a limited time, it was only for a small period to ensure they can do it right.

Additionally, there are key differences between that of the Mack-Rides Xtreme Spinning Coaster in comparison to that of the traditional Mack-Rides Spinning Coaster. The use of eddy current brakes to control the rate of spinning, the ability for the trains to navigate more easily through inversions, and the stadium seating that has been found from their Mega and LSM coasters.

It was a major leap for Mack-Rides, and to discredit that is missing the point of what Time Traveler meant for them.

As for the case of Hollywood Drift, the same can be applied. While yes it is a variant of the Intamin MDC Coaster models, it is the first version to be able to have inversions baked into the core ride experience; on top of that of the use of the purpose-controlled rotations that is not unlike that of the Omnicoaster model from Vekoma. It also contrasts that of other traditional Intamin MDC coaster models in the result of the G-Forces it seemingly aims to be bringing in comparison to that of a family model.

For all intents and purposes, it is their "Xtreme" version of the model that was introduced with Objectif Mars; and it will need time to be tested to ensure the rotations are coordinated the right way.

The only thing I want to nitpick (besides the ginormous size of that building. Holy hell it doesn't look that big from ground level)... I know it's not possible or realistic, but i wish the gap over the Starway wasn't so big

I can't wait for the rest of the track to go in. I love the parts that intertwine. It'll be interesting to see landscape get done post-track installation

I'm really intrigued the see how the Starway turnaround feels to ride. It's either going to be crazy or the most boring element on the ride based on the position of the cars.

Do we think they'll retheme French Street and the Parisian Courtyard in time for this? I'd be surprised if there wasn't a restaurant and gift shop planned for this, and French Street is the only place they can go.

I know that elevated covered platform is likely part of the queue but it would be a cool spot for a bar with a view. Sponsored by Corona beer of course. ;)

There is, but it’s going to take over Duff Brewery. Parisian will be left untouched.

Interesting how Duff Brewery naturally blends in with the ride station being built.

It was all planned from the beginning. .....18 years ago

okay, so Springfield hasn't existed as long as The Simpsons Ride, but still, the thought of Duff Gardens nearly existing for almost 10 years makes my eye twitch from old age :skull:

Huh, wasn't expecting them to start taking out parts of Springfield already!
