Terrifier is not my cup of tea but I'm happy others are excited for it. I love how involved the cast are with the community and could definitely see them showing up to the event beyond just the Hollywood Red Carpet opening weekend Murdy show off time.

I know license holders would never agree to it, but with another 'anniversary' year on the horizon, it would be fun to see Jack show up at the end of this event holding Art's head to transition to 35. Because I feel that clown's face is going to be aaalllllll over this event.

So assuming TLOU and Terrifier happen (was secretly hoping for NOES, as the slasher house but excited to see a new face at the event), that leaves 3 other potential IP's:
I'm speculating:
SMILE - this one has gotten some recent hype behind it and with more sequels already planned, it could make an appearance this year. But this is my least confident one as i feel like a bigger IP will replace it.
Nosferatu - Imo, this fits right in to replace a UM house, in some ways id categorize it as a UM in the first place. I do think box office success has an impact on whether or not this happens.
Blumhouse House - I mean it seems like a no brainer with MEGAN coming. Her presence over the last 2 years and new movie; now would be the time to get a solo house and knowing blumhouse it will probably be a 2 part house for both movies.

What I'm thinking could be a sleeper is any Netflix IP. From a new season of Wednesday, Stranger things, and even the new FEAR Street movie. I think any of those 3 are a big possibility.

If I could add 1 personal Wishlist, it would be FROM. Just watched all 3 seasons and this has so much potential as a house.

Out of curiosity has Hellraiser ever been to the event? I feel like that would be a killer house if done correctly!

Techinically, yes - as a Temu version of it back in 2006. The All-Nite Die In 2 had a couple of scenes, but they were "unofficial".

But it's never been an official IP in the line-up.

TLoU 2, Terrifier, Smile, Nosferatu and HoB: M3GAN + The Black Phone 2 (I would prefer a solo M3GAN house tbh, especially since BP2 won't be out till after hhn starts but I'm not against the idea)/a M3GAN solo house... would be an absolutely amazing IP lineup. Almost sounds too good to be true lol

Nightmare on Elm Street is so iconic that if they have an opportunity I legitimately think every single other house could be a slasher and they'd still jump on it

Whatever the Blumhouse IP may end up being (if there is one) I hope they don’t do the compilation houses anymore. Those IP’s always seem better off by themselves (Insidious and Believer as examples).

If Terrifier does actually show up, good for those who wanted to see it.

As for me, well it would make my eventual anticipation list all the easier as that would be an instant lock at the number #10 spot if it's confirmed. I can see why they'd want to go for this IP, heck it's pretty clear to see. But the series itself truly does nothin' for me, which makes for an easy placement on the bottom anticipation-wise.

Right there with ya - instant #10 lol

Terrifier does absolutely nothing for me at all, and I find it actively annoying. But hey, maybe the house will be decent.

Like others have said, I'd guess now that we don't see F13. Which is a massive shame

Two big rumors already! And solved pretty fast too.

Both make a ton of sense, and check off both the relevancy and popularity boxes imo. Here's hoping they turn out in the end. We still have a very long way to go until next September.

I remember a few years ago, we were talking about Terrifier at HHN and were very down on the IP. I think the further we get from the first movie, and the more the IP snowballs in popularity, it's become a much easier sell to a pretty corporate and relatively clean event like modern HHN. I'm not a fan of the series myself, but I understand it's place in the horror movie genre right now and I'm happy for it's fans. It's another underdog IP making it to the big leagues, as it were, which is really fun to see.

I surely hope so - I mean it's not like F13 and Terrifier are even close to the same location/character/atmosphere-wise lol

Agreed. Whether they go for grimy/industrial Terrifier 1, carnival/Halloween Terrifier 2, Christmas Terrifier 3, or a mix, none of those environments are close to Camp Crystal Lake. Art the Clown is very different than Jason. The target audience overlaps of course, but there are young Terrifier fans who don't care about F13 and old school F13 who have mixed feelings about Terrifier. I think we could easily support both, despite them both being slashers, and I hope that Universal would think of it that way instead of just thinking, one slasher, checked that box.

If anyone at Universal is reading, hint hint, the fans want Jason (or Freddy)! :)

Insidious and Exorcist Believer worked very well as solo houses, but I would argue that wouldn't be the case for all Blumhouse franchises. M3GAN definitely seems to be the most likely to be featured next year, but I can imagine that would be a difficult character to staff for a full house, and I question if it has enough scenes that are suitable to pull from. Given that we're also getting a Black Phone sequel next year, and that Jason Blum said he wants M3GAN and Black Phone to be major franchises for the studio, I think it is very likely we could a compilation house with both.

Personally, I think a solo M3GAN house could work. Do sorta an original take on the character like they did with Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count. Moreso like Hollywood's version at least.

M3gan has a whole new movie next year and a spinoff the year after, I think she'll start getting her own house pretty soon.

Yeah M3GAN will have two films to pull from, theoretically that should be enough potential content to get a house out of. Or they could always do what Hollywood did for M3GAN’s portion of the Terror Tram and make an original story with her.

Yeah, I love this idea. And then it all leads up to Chucky vs. M3GAN: Ultimate Kill Count 2: 2 Kill, 2 Count

"Now a pure slasher IP year with both of them AND Ghostface AND Art in their own houses?? Bananas pipedream but let's manifest it against all odds lmao." THIS

IMO .... HHN needs to get back to the blood, guts, and horror of years past. While I always have the best time there every year this last year was just not a great year for me. If you were lucky enough to attend years like 19, 21, 25, etc.... it was an actual Halloween feel to them. Im venting I guess. I took my 11 year old daughter to her first HHN last year and I thought it was probably my least favorite.

While I was verrrrry underwhelmed by 33, I feel like I've seen the "we need blood, guts, and gore to return!" comment every single year since I started going in 2009. I don't think "amount of gore" would be in my top 20 complaints from 33 tbh.

Agree, the lack of gore is not an issue at HHN (nor a measure of success).

The issue with HHN is that they've expanded a bit beyond what is typically recognized as traditional Halloween content. Which is why I'm in favor of cutting 2 zones in favor of more traditional Halloween decor/experiences throughout the park/event that will bring back the "halloween" in Halloween Horror Night. I know some of you will disagree, but I don't think it's asking too much for them to invest in traditional Halloween decor throughout the parks that can be reused on a yearly basis.

I'm not saying that HHN should avoid non-traditional IPs/content, but they need a strong foundation/lineup of more traditional experiences/concepts.

I've been begging for traditional Halloween decor in the parks in general for awhile now.

It's been discussed, but cutting the Central Park zone in favor of pumpkins in the trees, fog, lighting etc would be totally fine with me. Maybe have 2 or 3 roaming actors throughout.
