KTLA has new aerial footage of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, showing the latest from the sky! Alongside that, I am pleased to say that I am linked in the article.

As born in the inland empire--my love for California has always been something I wear on my sleeve. The fact that KTLA, the KTLA, asked to use a fan-made mockup by me; is genuinely insane for me.

Makes me think to my younger self, and how he'd react to that discovery. Even for something as small and superfluous; it brings me immense joy that I can only say makes me feel like Mike Wazowski when he sees he is on TV or on a magazine.

___
Big thing from the aerial is now with the showbuilding fully formed and thematic elements, it didn't really occur to me how tall the building actually is. The visual imprint of the building makes a noticeable indent and mark towards that of the area of USH, and I love that they are seemingly taking a route that comes from Orlando Supercharged; in not having any of the guest-facing area be blank.

This is gonna sound weird to say in the big '24 but that aerial finally made me feel like USH is a proper theme park lol.

Nah I think I get it. While I have my issues in that this feels like it should've happened sooner than later--the ability to see a striking and bold, high-scale thrill coaster is genuinely impressive and insane.

I remember me and my dad were talking about it as we did our night together during my trip; and we both couldn't wrap our heads around the huge showbuilding and the support/track for the area around the Starway. It makes a genuine statement visually in a way that I do kind of love.

They’re about to announce that they just cancelled it the coaster. They ran out of money because not enough people went to HHN this year. Sorry guys.

I think a Dominic Toretto meet and greet would be pretty popular, especially with the families.

The Five Fires images show a glimpse of the brick walls with arched windows. As an LA native and someone who lived in Hollywood as an adult...that aesthetic doesn't feel very Hollywood to me. It feels rust-belt or east coast industrial...Milwaukee Drift or Baltimore Drift? Maybe I'm missing the reference. Regardless, still excited for the ride!

Do you mind sharing the image? There are plenty of brick buildings in LA, especially south of the 10. But I couldn’t find the image you’re referring to.

@Crypt_Keeper posted it above but I'm adding an arrow. Yes, there are brick buildings in LA, but it's not quintessentially "Hollywood" ... I'd expect they'd choose an architectural style to reinforce the setting/theme.

I don't think they ever said the setting was "Hollywood"...? I believe it's called "Hollywood Drift" because of the park's location in general.

lol

This is not a coaster that theme was ever going to be the selling point

Its based on a series centered around speed, the hill is the hook to make it have a unique kinda track and the cars might have some lights on it to give the drifting of the cars an extra way to highlight the car theme but this is a six Flags coasters at Universal...the Q will be a Garage or warhouse

But yeah if people wanted a themed coaster this was never going to be it....now if this was ET themed, BTTF, how to train your dragon sure we could get hopes up with some themeing but we all knew from the past attraction what this would be theme wise

I think they may have used the Starkman Building in LA as design inspiration.

It was used as the exterior of Ben's apartment in American Treasure.
