Looking at the site updates between last September and now you can see where Epic Universe will appear alongside the current offerings under a 4 Park option. Add a new option with this image and you're done:

I don't know if we'll see something very different than what's currently offered. At most maybe some blockout dates for all annual passes when you upgrade to inclue EU in the first year, which they could remove if capacity isn't met earlier than that. Summer or even spring crowds might not put the park at capacity but I think there's a good chance we'll see those larger crowds during the holiday season of next year that might then put the park at capacity.

The exact opening date is still up in the air and at this point it's a safer bet planning a late summer or winter vacation to EU next year which will almost guarantee the park will be open and most immediate issues are fixed. There may not be a need for special/awkward ticketing structure, especially if they have lengthy AP soft opening previews so they can get their fill before grand opening.

Is that why they haven't reopened Pteranodon Flyers?

Seriously though, for me it's not always about the ride vehicle's movements but the effects on around ride (e.g. Dementors or removing 3D) and how many of those continue to operate past the first year. Obviously if the ride itself is causing injuries it should be addressed and can't be helped, but missing effects over time does take the shine off the ride a little bit.

There's something great about seeing a new ride as-intended by the designers before elements disappear or stop working for various reasons months or years later. I hope to be at opening for EU but I definitely want to be there in the first few months to see everything while it's fresh out the box.

Yes, we discussed this a few months ago when the website started to update slowly in preparation for Epic Universe. They recently just updated the dining search option within the site so you can easily filter between parks/citywalk/parks/etc.

I was making a bit of a joke mentioning that ride. I actually thought you were referencing FJ's RVs tbh.

MrRoamer said:
The ride I was referring to was Dudley Do Right. When that ride first opened it was very very different. Everything was much faster and the boats (do we still call them RVs?) were also very different. Back then the cushions on the front and back didn't exist and there were only two seats per boat. If you had someone riding with you one of you would be sitting up against the other between their legs.

The case with my dad, he was in the back and had my mom riding between his legs. Came up over the hump on the drop and his head went forward into my mom's head as hers was going back and then that whipped his head back and hit the back of the boat.

Thanks for sharing that bit of ride history. Sorry about your folks, hope the injuries weren't too serious!

Log flume boats always felt a little sketchy with no restraints but that kind of whiplash never entered my mind. Glad they have padding now!

Yeah I remember a bit of that. I was bringing it up again for posterity since we're so close.

There's no way they're dropping the Opening Date and Ticket Availability tomorrow

I am kinda naturally doubtful of it, just cuz I don't wanna get my hopes up too much, but I can't think of anything else they'd hype this up for like that

They announced all the lands and hotel. What else is there really left to discuss that doesn't involve a firm soft opening date/timeline?

Unless it's something Helios related, given the info that came out this week it is probably about the opening date.

It has to be either opening day or nighttime show details, those are the only things I can think of left to announce an annoucment for.

My hope is that we get some clear idea on how APs will be handled. Not expecting to upgrade my AP tomorrow to include Epic, but would like to know how it all works. I plan on being there opening day with or without AP, but after that I'd like to visit with a proper AP pass.

Was an open hub past certain hours ever explicitly confirmed or denied yet?

But this is also decades since the last major theme park opened in Orlando. With a ton of more media and marketing. I'm not sure it will sell out every day, but I can see a company trying to offer their more expensive ticket options first before offering other ones later.

I can't imagine it drawing crowds to close it. I'd say that The Magic Kingdom at WDW was far more anticipate (heck, it even made the cover of LIFE) and didn't fill until Thanksgiving weekend

Both Potter lands were within the "social media" era and were insanely popular. (Can't undersell how unique Hogsmeade was, first time official merch was available,) Neither opening sold out the full park.

That said, I expect a myriad of AP options with various blackout dates, just like WDW--and prices just like WDW. For reference, park-view Grand Helios will start at $1k. No way for that price you can't buy a ticket to the park.

Labds versus. an entire park. I about Hogsmede was built to hold 40,000+ guests

Also the drop

If you can get a refundable hotel room, what do you have to lose?
