It cute.

It’s also derivative of this if you’ve ever seen this meme before.

I'm very curious to see how the ticket options will be. Will be very disappointed if you can only access EU for 1 day via multi-day tickets.

To go on opening day to experience a ride's true intensity and most impressive effects before it's tamed down for normies or to go six months later to enjoy a more peaceful yet potentially diminished experience. The eternal dilemma of every theme park park fan.

Sometimes you don't want to be on the ride before it's been tamed down. Let's just say that there was a certain ride at IoA that had to be tamed down multiple times because people were getting injured. My dad got whiplash and a concussion from it during soft launch.

Oddly enough that ride continued to have injuries for quite a while afterwards too. Friend of mine worked the ride photo booth for it and would tell me all kinds of stories.

More than disappointing, it will mean I won't be visiting until other options are available.

And there's the reason I don't believe a no-AP and no 1-day ticket won't be available . Too many people would cancel their APs and too many guests would skip. I've stated this before - heard how bad it was going to be on every park at opening and yet not one --- not one -- theme park in Orlando has ever filled to capacity in it's opening month.

But this is also decades since the last major theme park opened in Orlando. With a ton of more media and marketing. I'm not sure it will sell out every day, but I can see a company trying to offer their more expensive ticket options first before offering other ones later.

If I was Mr. Universal I'd sell the multiday tickets with Epic Universe days first. Gage the interest and determine demand before opening to single day ticket sales and UOAP upgrades. No inside info, that's just what I'd do.

I think everyone is worrying for no reason. We don’t have all the info, cause the only info we have wasn’t supposed to be out, and was only from third party sellers.

Both Potter lands were within the "social media" era and were insanely popular. (Can't undersell how unique Hogsmeade was, first time official merch was available,) Neither opening sold out the full park.

That said, I expect a myriad of AP options with various blackout dates, just like WDW--and prices just like WDW. For reference, park-view Grand Helios will start at $1k. No way for that price you can't buy a ticket to the park.

Universal has an additional block of hotel rooms to sell, that's where the money lies and any sort of significant blackout/limited capacity schemes could threaten occupancy rates.

Looking at the site updates between last September and now you can see where Epic Universe will appear alongside the current offerings under a 4 Park option. Add a new option with this image and you're done:

all4.png

I don't know if we'll see something very different than what's currently offered. At most maybe some blockout dates for all annual passes when you upgrade to inclue EU in the first year, which they could remove if capacity isn't met earlier than that. Summer or even spring crowds might not put the park at capacity but I think there's a good chance we'll see those larger crowds during the holiday season of next year that might then put the park at capacity.

The exact opening date is still up in the air and at this point it's a safer bet planning a late summer or winter vacation to EU next year which will almost guarantee the park will be open and most immediate issues are fixed. There may not be a need for special/awkward ticketing structure, especially if they have lengthy AP soft opening previews so they can get their fill before grand opening.

Is that why they haven't reopened Pteranodon Flyers?

Seriously though, for me it's not always about the ride vehicle's movements but the effects on around ride (e.g. Dementors or removing 3D) and how many of those continue to operate past the first year. Obviously if the ride itself is causing injuries it should be addressed and can't be helped, but missing effects over time does take the shine off the ride a little bit.

There's something great about seeing a new ride as-intended by the designers before elements disappear or stop working for various reasons months or years later. I hope to be at opening for EU but I definitely want to be there in the first few months to see everything while it's fresh out the box.

I am in Canada and I don't see any mention of a 4-park or EU logo. I looked under regular and AP sections.

I was pointing out that among the website changes they've making to roll out EU's inclusion over the last few months some of those also can be clues to how things will appear when EU opens.

There's always the caveat things can change, but this kind of work takes months and years to plan out so it's likely what we're seeing currently will be similar to what we get when ticket options are made available.

Sorry for going off topic

No Pteranodon Flyers from what people round here have said is something totally different.

The ride I was referring to was Dudley Do Right. When that ride first opened it was very very different. Everything was much faster and the boats (do we still call them RVs?) were also very different. Back then the cushions on the front and back didn't exist and there were only two seats per boat. If you had someone riding with you one of you would be sitting up against the other between their legs.

The case with my dad, he was in the back and had my mom riding between his legs. Came up over the hump on the drop and his head went forward into my mom's head as hers was going back and then that whipped his head back and hit the back of the boat.
