Appreciate it.

Also a heads up about another pleasant surprise, since this turned out to be the case as I bought my TokoToko Mario:

I think they finally dropped the restriction of the SNW merch not getting discounts, cause I was able to get it on my purchase.

EDIT: I think they absolutely dropped it. I bought some additional merch for a friend on my way out and the AP discount was still good.

I actually went there on my last visit on the 4th of July. They do indeed open up an hour before opening, but they didn't seem to instantly vanish. In fact, they had all time slots for the day available. Could have been because of 4th of July, but I'm sure it should be relatively smooth now that it's been open for over a year now.

The early lunch hours are usually the first to go, which I think I noticed after checking an hour or two after park opening.

You're gonna also want to bookmark this too. Same link from the QR codes in the park: bentobox Reservation

And much to my surprise, reservations are still open at the time of posting! This probably means that 4th of July crowds just ate up reservations at a faster rate than normal.

Finally tried Toadstool's for the first time ever.

Reservation was at 12:45, I didn't order until 1:25, and I didn't receive my food until 2 PM on the dot. Very, very ridiculous standard of ops they have here, but I cannot blame them completely.

Had the Tomato Soup (good!), Luigi Burger (fine - chicken was a little dry, fries were actually very good though), and the tiramisu (very, very good). The Lemon Squash soda was also very tasty. However, I spent $106 for two people which I also found a little disappointing, even when considering it's a theme park establishment, but the wait time REALLY dragged my experience down. I felt especially bad for TMs though. They really look like they try their hardest. Guests, especially tourists, seem to not understand that they'll be escorted to the dining room and still try to rush past looking for a seat.

I also bought the TokoToko Mario toy, but I didn't realize it didn't have the red shell on the back like Japans does. A little disappointing, but still a very fun collector's item.

MK was at 70 mins. average all day and the line moved nonstop. Operations and loading seemed to improve much more than they were a year ago, and guests seemed to like riding it now that expectations and word goes around that it's more of an actual video game compared to a fast paced thrill ride that many going in blind would have expected a year ago. Kudos to the team.

106 Dollars for 2 people

What else did you get besdies drinks and one entree each? That seems insane

Also yeah, Its why I don't eat at the safe....waiting 1.5 hours for food anywhere is insane. Thats more time then I wait for the Blue bayou and request a seat next to the water.

Everything is priced 15$ and up so I can see the 102 price.
To me besides maybe six flags I think universals food options aren’t the best tasting

This probably isn't too much of a surprise, but I think TokoToko Mario is currently sold out. Was in NONE of the stores on my visit earlier today.

Guess that's the new iteration of the character hats when they were new; the moment it's restocked, it's gonna be a hot item that sells out within days.

Also, there's now Toad merch in the same vein as the existing Mario/Luigi/Peach/Yoshi/Bowser/Bowser Jr. shirts and bags.

I would not be surprised if Toad has become even more popular here because of the meet and greet

People seem to love meeting Toad, so I bet a few fans want to have his merch now more then ever

I mean with this being a soft year for USH and theme parks

To me its the least you can do to get people to your park and its also an easy photo op to post online

Glad we are getting it now please bring on the Princess Peach Cake that is only in Japan for someone reason

As someone who went to Japan this past February and tried it... it's not great lol. Presentation is amazing but it's very plain and not much flavor. I hope it doesn't come to Hollywood tbh

The food at Kinopio’s in general was really really bad. Toadstool might actually be a step up

anyways I’m super excited for even a teensy bit of holiday overlay

Eh I disagree with you about the food. I had the Omelet Rice with Shrimp & Mushroom Cream Stew and the Pizza bowl, thought both were absolutely delicious

The thought of new holiday food at Toadstool Café is quite exciting for me! Can't wait to see what they serve up for the occasion!

Same. It's gonna be very interesting to see what they come up with for the western crowd for the holidays given the inherent menu differences between the two countries.

Hoping there's no hot chocolate dish though; in my experiences the hot chocolate at USH hasn't been that great for me.

Two days from now--I will be experiencing SNW for the first time with my dad on our traditional night of HHN together.

It will be the first time for the both of us--we wanted to wait until we both were able to do it at the same time; and I am genuinely and completely excited. While Mario isn't a series I often played, it is a series I have loved sentimentality through the identity that the italian plumber represents.

I am genuinely, completely excited to see SNW in person. To experience Mario Kart, and to do the Power-Up Bands (DAISY TIME). Will post my thoughts in the appropriate place, but I am giddy.
