Could be character spot updates, fountain plumbing repairs, bathroom renovations, anything. I’m keeping my excitement in check for now. I’ve been hurt before.

I don't think 19 months would be long enough (by Disney's standard pace) for the kind of complete overhaul most of us would hope to see, anyway.

If they're ever going to re-do Journey, I want a top-to-bottom new version (taking inspiration from the story structure of the original ride).

Considering that the Figment ride system is in rough shape, though not as bad as SSE, I'd imagine it's a complete gutting of the attraction ride system whenever they work on this project.

A Figment restoration feels like such an obvious slam-dunk decision that Disney's silence and hesitation honestly makes me feel a little...nervous? I know I shouldn't be. I've really enjoyed all of the Epcot improvements, as well as the new dark rides they've designed of the last decade, and I should be glad they're taking their time if thats what they need to do to make sure its done correctly. But there's also the scarier thought that maybe the avoidance is because they actually don't know what to do or what people want from Figment..? That's not a fun idea.

I wonder if they are still thinking about changing it to Inside out considering Inside Out isn't really represented anywhere? The main issue I think Disney is dealing with there is Inside Out doesn't move merch and Figment does. The WoL pavilion is still sitting there and could be turned into something Inside Out without taking away Figment if they really want.

Inside Out would be a no-brainer if it was any other Disney attraction, but it's Figment.

I think they probably could've gotten away with tearing out Imagination sometime in the late 2000s or early 2010s, but they've pushed this character really hard in recent years. They make a ton of money off of Figment merch, marketing, licensing, etc. and effectively treat him as the Walt Disney World mascot next to Mickey, Minnie, and Dumbo. Maybe they're waiting to see how the Disney+ show works out, maybe marketing and Imagineering are on different pages, but I think it'd be a really tough sell to tear out Imagination at this point.

The reactions to that post were predictable. It’s impossible not to have politics enter into the discussion, and I have a feeling there will be protests or other issues…

Doubt it, social media and the real world are very different.

They currently have a few GWB artifacts at the Hall of Presidents, no issues there.

Yeah I agree. I don't think most people have issues with the Bush family, so I don't see protests. Social media will be the extremes and keyboard warriors. The idiots lol

Let's move away from the sweeping/dismissive generalizations. I suspect the exhibit will fare fine.

Sidestepping politics, I think GWB's portraits are actually quite good (certainly for a non-trained politician!), and having original artwork from a living POTUS feels extremely appropriate for the gallery space in The American Adventure.

I’d literally rather a “Muppets: The American Tale” replace this whole area and show. Whether a small omnimover dark ride or Muppets 3-D esc show would work.

This. When the movie came out, it just screamed "WOL" Pavilion which is the breath of fresh air it'd need. Also, I'd hazard a guess that Inside Out would move more merch if they had an attraction to attach it to. Along with many emotional photo-ops.

As for Imagination Pavilion, I miss both Captain EO & HISTA

I agree. I know people don't like the IP invasion of Epcot (especially world showcase), but if it fits that particular country. Go for it.

As for Muppets. American Adventure is a total snoozefest & doesn't live up the title if "adventure", unless your type of adventure is a quick nap. I'm all for gutting it for a Sam Eagle led attraction, complete with Miss Piggy as Lady Liberty lol

Overall, the Muppets having a 2nd home at WDW wouldn't be a bad thing if done well. (Granted I'd still love The Great Muppet Movie Ride to join Muppetvision 3D)

They did have the Muppets at MK for a few years before covid hit. They did a 15-20 minute show from the windows of a building in Liberty Square. It was pretty good. They were in colonial attire.

I remember that. Sad it didn't become a permanent thing (or indoor replacement).
