Sorry to keep asking questions. I have been to Disney once during Thanksgiving and remembered that it was not as busy as when we went during Christmas and New Year's Eve. Is Universal busy the week of Thanksgiving or is it busier when schools are out for Christmas and New year? I am trying to plan on getting Express Passes but if it's not that busy maybe we can get away without them, especially for three days worth of passes.

I can say with certainty Winter is busier. There are daily 200 minute lines for Grinch, it's impressive!

Thanksgiving week is busy, but not as intense as Christmas to New Year’s. Like Matu said, winter crowds can bring 3+ hour waits, especially for things like the Grinch.

For a three-day visit during Thanksgiving, you could manage without Express Passes if you rope drop and use the app well. But if you prefer minimal waiting, the passes can still be worth it.
