Why haven't we seen Metallica at HHN? I would love a Metallica house.

So my memory may be off, but I could've sworn HNN's 2019 Spec Maps had shown that Hollywood was trying to get Metallica. Would've been where Us went.

You make good points,
From personal experience, specially in hhn, I see many more shirts of ghost in the park than slipknot, ( specially younger people)
Someone earlier mentioned people wearing slasher shirts this year in the event,
and musically speaking, I don't think I ever saw a slipknot shirt this year or last year lol,( except me when I wear my old school- first album- slipknot sweater lol. )
But I also see a lot of girls with Ghost shirts too, and younger people, And yes, Ghost songs appear on tik tok as well, and I have heard their songs on Instagram shorts as well.
I was just thinking that ghost is kind of on people's radars recently, hip with the kids, made into memes and since they worked on Halloween kills then they kinda had that connection to universal already.

Another possible factor why I don’t find Ghost to be possible for the event is they never were part of a particular movement genre wise cause they’re doing their own individually with their musical styles. Slipknot on the other hand makes more sense to me, since they were a big part of the Nu-Metal movement along with Korn, Linkin Park, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, and System of the Down to name many as I could that was pretty much the last big wave for rock music in the mainstream at the late 90’s and Early 2000’s other than the Garage Rock revival.

I'm aware of Metallica being on the Spec Maps in 2019, but I don't know if Hollywood was actually trying to get Metallica or if it was a red herring or miscommunication.

theres always the chance that the artist says no, thats what always makes me wonder about any potential artist. or that they ask for stuff that cant be done,
either an artist tdemands are too difficult or something ( or they might think that a haunted house could be too silly or something
its like when bands get asked to be in movie soundtracks but decline because they dont think it is good for their image or something. there have been times when bands get mad if their music gets asked to be in tv shows or stuff
im not saying that this applies to NIN. but Trent Reznor has had trouble with companies and stuff before.

Especially since they were able to get an artist as popular as the Weeknd. Even if Eilish or Weeknd aren't in someone's wheelhouse, the potential doors they opened are huge.

I mean regardless of who we get, it's a pretty safe bet to say that we are getting another music house next year.

I'll be curious at to the direction of the event in general. After this year, with the transition over to a new team, I'm really excited to see what they do and where they go.

It could just be Weeknd again and they call it a day lol. They even asked if Weeknd should come back.
which brings up the question, would 2 music houses be too much? Or just perfect? If they bring Weeknd again in one side of the park, but bring Metallica on the other side of the park,
would that be awesome? Or too much for people?

( Imagine if the scarezones were set up like a concert gone wrong or something. Or one of the zones has a stage like Vamp 85 but a fictional band are vampires like from dusk till dawn.
what I mean is, not only having two music houses but one of the zones made up to be a concert style zone with a fake demon band as well) it's like, if they had one year where we had a musical house but a scarezone based on music too ( or bring slipknot as a zone like rob zombie)

And there's always the possibility that Rob Zombie itself becomes a house, because a rob zombie house would be different than the House of 1000 corpses.
A Rob Zombie house would be very easy to do since they already have stuff from the zone and rob zombie said yes to the zone

Considering that any props, costumes etc. made for an IP zone/house are promptly destroyed after the event it's in, they don't have any stuff they made for 2019's zone nor HoTC.

Yeah I was just thinking that if uni wanted another music house, rob zombie would be the easiest and fastest they could have.
The Scarezone was a fan favorite, well received, very busy with people taking pics and stuff. rob zombie is very big and famous, very horror related, good relationship with universal already.
All of us are thinking of other possible bands but uni could have this in the pocket already if they wanted to go that route. ( Even the lagoon show, if it comes back, could feature rob zombie and be part of it)

I had a wild thought for a post-apocalyptic themed year with Eddie as the icon and NIN blaring everywhere

But that's another story for another thread

NIN are great and Trent Reznor is a great composer for film, game, and media

Would love to see Universal collab with him, at the very least on an in park loop

What if they do Phantom of The Opera but its not the french Phantom of the Opera but New Orleans set....and that acts as the music house as well with a custom soundtrack by a artist that is Soul/Funk inspired with a hint of darkness.

I think they’re more likely to go with the 1925 silent film if the Phantom is next. The 1923 Hunchback movie is the first Universal Monster, so we could see a crossover with those characters.

This is me guessing, but I would bet we see a Phantom/Hunchback house next year to coincide with the 100-year anniversary of both films. Both take place in Paris and can together fill ten scenes. Murdy has alluded on Twitter that he's interested in doing a Phantom house and has a concept ready.

For Creature, Hollywood will have to figure out how to execute him in a way that isn't a prohibitively expensive, performer-destroying creature suit.

Discord is an app you can download in either the android or apple store. Once you have it it you join a group.

I would really recommend posting this question on their actual forum though.
