That's my thought, expand the the studio store into a larger experience. Plus we forget that Universal LOVES closing off that area of CityWalk for events, so moving their store from that location would be beneficial.

Orrrr.... they could have a store on both the corner in question and keep the current store. The new store would be in a perfect place for guests exiting USF and the other store is fine for guests exiting IOA.

I don't see that as a likely option. Too much valuable CityWalk space to put two USS that close to each other, especially since they sell similar items at the exit shops of each park.

I tend to agree, but it's still an option. The likelihood though is the store closest to IOA will go for something else.

Throwing an entertainment option going there instead. Maybe this is finally the escape room idea.

My guess is this has to do with a preview center for Epic Universe.

Personally speaking, I'm in the line of thought as a "Preview" Center as-well..but I'm curious if they'd use it for only EU, or have a part of it flex-use, for future projects outside of EU (like say..Velocicoaster for instance).

Honestly though, part of me would actually wonder if they have looked at how the Tribute Store has been consistently executed with a level of care and respect, to where if they are doing a Preview Center..that they can actually make it a "Specialty" store, with select merchandise from the IP's established with the projects that they'd show, and to also preview things that relate to what's there.

So say, you have a section dedicated to Universal Monsters, and you could deck it out in theming in a similar scale to that of the Stranger Things portion of the Tribute Store from 29, and sell merchandise relating towards the Monsters (whether it'd be that of the rebranded merch that's been rolled out for the past year or that of the collab artwork they did in Hollywood with Tristan Eaton). Same applies for Super Nintendo World with merch that'd appear in the Osaka land.

It could be a very unique way to capitalize on hyping up the new park, while also reusing items that you have in stock. It's a thought, but I've been thinking more and more if that's a potential path they could go down.

EDIT: In a sense, it'd be almost similar to Epcot's preview center they have at the moment, but on a grander scale.

I feel like a preview center, even one that sells merch, would be just as successful/useful inside of USF as it would be at CityWalk.

But a venue with more general audience appeal passing through CityWalk, would be more profitable.

I just don’t see a preview center taking up that much real estate in a high traffic area, but that’s my opinion. As exciting as it would be for us, I just don’t see it.

Honestly speaking, I don't see USS moving. Especially with the capital they spent on remodeling the store for Orlando. It'd be too short of a timeframe since then, IMO.

Not to mention, a Preview Store could allow them to swap out things more easily, so that way they wouldn't need to keep it entirely centered on EU.

Maybe but my response to that is, my understanding, the Tribute Store is still considered attraction queuing not retail. At this point it could be this or CityWalk. I think it's more likely this is for the Tribute location and they sign over the space to retail than it is for redoing such a large area of CityWalk.

Well I notice the permit lists it as a 2019 Building, which leads me to believe it may have been permitted once already for this year prior. The tribute store may have gotten a permit already once earlier this year when they were removing Mummy elements.

EDIT: Maybe I’m just looking too much into it. Just trying to think of anything else on property with multiple sections and this definitely has full walls between each room.

Can this space even still be used for queue with the new locker space?

I don't believe so, but it's very much a "technically it's still owned by ops" sorta thing. Make sense?

The address is 6000 Universal Blvd - it's a CityWalk permit.

And what do you mean by it being a "2019 building"? Are you referring to the permit number? BLD2019-21773? That's just the sequential number assigned to this project by the City of Orlando permitting system.
