Is that really fitting to use as an analogy?

I hope that's not the case, but if it is; the only thing I can wish of is that the ride system isn't having a Marvel crisis.

Yes. Gambling addiction is a terrible thing, but the damage is by and large localized to the addict and their loved ones; to my mind, that makes it the lesser of the two addictions by itself. It's a perfectly fair analogy. And we'll leave it there to stay on topic.

Why would they remove it from the plans? It’s clearly planned for USJ at some point in the future, and Hollywood is rumored to get it as well. I hope to God that you’re wrong.

But, if you’re right, I wonder what will replace it? We’re probably getting four/five rides here, so now we’re missing two or three.

I've heard it may adapt a system we've seen before.

Because Fantastic Worlds isn't a Studios park. That's why it can change.

Hmm, that’s interesting. A system we haven’t seen here, or anywhere in general?

It doesn’t have to be a Studios Park to use a good concept/ride. Other than technical reasons, or if it got updated and placed in another area of the park, it shouldn’t be removed. You can add a ride without getting rid of one.

No way... I’ve wanted something like a Donkey Kong mine train forever and now it might not happen? That ride system looked perfect for it!

If this is true, then Universal just made a really stupid decision.

“Hey I got an idea! You know that revolutionary ride system that we were going to use for Donkey Kong? You know, the one that’s going into both of our other major parks? Yeah, let’s replace it with a ride that’s already found elsewhere at our resort! It’s brilliant!” - Universal, probably.

If they changed the ride system to a different kind of coaster, my guess is they're worried about capacity. The Boom coaster did not look like it would be able to stand up capacity-wise.

I believe that @Legacy is saying that it’s not going to be a coaster at all. He did say this: “That’s assuming Kong is still getting a coaster”

If it’s not, the only other hung I could see it being is another Fordbidden Journey like ride system. Which is fine by me

Hmm, now that I’d be fine with. But I’d still be mad that we lost the coaster. Why couldn’t we get both?

If the choice is between "new, innovative ride experience" and "rehash of an already-existing ride," I vote for the former.

I’m just gonna hope that this is something that Universal is considering, but won’t go through with. Either that or it’s a false rumor spread by UC.

I think people are overthinking how innovative the Boom coaster would have been. Would have been cool, but would have been a pretty standard coaster experience. I hope it gets built, but saying they can't build a good or great DK ride without it is hyperbole

I don’t think that any other rides based on DK will suck, but the Boom Coaster would have fit the IP perfectly. Not to mention that it would have been an awesome experience, regardless of whether it was a normal coaster or not. But why wouldn’t you clone the coaster that everyone else is getting, but add another ride to go along with it? You don’t have spacial limitations, you don’t have a small budget, you can do whatever you want.

Also, my biggest question is: If DK isn’t getting the Boom Coaster, who will?

I mean, the track-jumping effect would have been pretty mind-blowing and innovative if they were really going to pull it off, no?

I'm not saying it won't be awesome. It should happen. I haven't heard anything to the contrary of it happening yet. But I don't think it will be the end of the world if it doesn't.

I guess? I mean, once you know how it's done it's not all that mind blowing. It'll be cool, but it's still a SDMT-level coaster, in the end
