I would be shocked if they didn't do Dark Universe. They have movies already lined up to connect them all, with the Mummy kicking it all off. It would be a great platform to showcase what's to come, reintroduce what put Universal on the map to begin with, and make it relevant now.

There is a lot of potential there and Horror/Villans right now is a hot ticket. Look how Disney has started to celebrate their villains.

I'd say the Dark Universe is already fine with the classics....I'm not sure Universal understands that they already made a cinematic universe in the 30's

People like classic, people like vintage

Also, a spooky land that reminds people of HHN all year is not a bad idea....You already have Mario and friends to bring in people

I know that the movie is probably going to flop, but how likely is it that we see a Mortal Engines attraction/land? It could be really cool if done right. They’ve also turned box-office failures into attractions before (see: WaterWorld).

It needs to be a tested and proven IP before it makes it into the parks....And definitely before it becomes a land....The days of WaterWorld, Twister, etc are over I think.....Even Bourne has a bunch of sequels

If they put a Frankenstien's Monster in the park who doesn't have a green face, a flat head, and bolts sticking out his neck, it's not Frankenstien's Monster.

I don't want to bring this up as this has largely been glossed over by most, but it needs to be addressed.

Correlating a movement to remove harassment, sexual exploitation, and quid pro quo from the work place and society (and as a mechanism to for those who've suffered to share their pain and gain support) to a theme park land and monsters is incredibly disingenuous and insulting. This totally misses the point and trivializes those who've been hurt at best and labels them as crazy and irrational at worst.

Anyway

:topic:

Edit:

I'd like to apologize to quinnmac000 for going personally after them when I know I shouldn't have. My worry was #metoo would end up being a part of the discussion of why some of the old monsters movies that depict women and minorities in poor light for a theme park.

I'm sorry I made an assumption based on their post and I am learning.

I wonder how interactive this park is going to be? Nintendo can't possibly be it for the play areas and interactive rides.

I would think that DreamWorks would have play areas for toddlers (2-4) if they put Trolls there and a play area in DKC for older kids (5-12)

A Frankenstien's Laboratory hands on science lab could be cool. Sort of like The Discovery Center but with tesla coils and plasma balls.

They could also do a Camp Jurassic style playground themed to The Croods.

I think very. Just like VB, but without the band would be great. I hope we get additional things to do that are not attractions with wait times like Discovery Center and Camp Jurassic.

On a side note, with the 'family' direction this park is heading towards to, I think this park will have a dedicated parade route. This new park becomes the parade park, USF becomes the event park and IOA is the "thrill" park.

If SNW is supposedly the headliner for the new park it needs to have at least 5 attractions IMO. Also be the largest most elaborate version as well. Otherwise they could have put in the kidzone.

PS. @UniversalRBLX we literally posted at the same time.

I don’t know if it’ll have five attractions (especially if we get a second major headliner like JW), but it’ll definitely have four. I really wonder what they’ll add, though. Splatoon? Another DK ride? Luigi’s Mansion? Odyssey? The possibilities are nearly endless.

I’ll go even bolder: it’ll have a Yoshi attraction. Yes, I know that’s weird, but I have a feeling that it’ll be there ;)

So what about the classic monsters in a show with 80's songs...oh wait that would be too much like that GOTG show at Epcot and that one sucks balls.

So, Universal’s got 3 out of 5 of the biggest media franchises in the world. One of them being #1.

Which is why people saying Pokémon couldn’t anchor anything is funny.

I think people have trouble figuring out how Pokemon can work in a theme park environment. It's not that hard though. Build a new land (ala SWGE) a grand dark ride and some type of interactive show along with an interactive game (like the wands) thru out the land. A restaurant with unique food items and a ton of merch should help pay for the land quite quickly.
