Once track installation is complete usually it’s electrical and show control installation next. This will likely occur parallel to installing theming and trees. Once complete a pull through will occur, likely next spring. Once done they’ll start cycling the ride with or without show. Final testing will happen before us meat bags will ride.

Waiting until spring to do a pull through sounds foolish to me. It's better to know something is wrong now than a couple of months or weeks before opening.

Yea, I gotta think a pull through will happen before theming goes in. An envelope test will happen after that

What's the difference between the two? Im guessing pullthrough is for track legitimacy, envelope is so we don't lose any limbs?

They run with a piece of plywood. Keep your hands in the ride vehicle, Shaquille

Don't they do them both at the same time usually? It's basically the same setup for both so I don't see why they wouldn't.

In my mind, a benefit of doing them separately would be, if there was an issue found with the track during pull-through, if it’s done before all the scenery goes in, it’s easier to get in there with heavy machinery and fix the issue. And then they can get the scenery in nice and close after that and do an envelope test.

So if they discover a structural problem after all the theming is in..then what? Huge delays and cost overruns. No brainer. As complicated as the track system seems they will/should be fully tested before extensive theming.

I’m not being funny with this but do you think that they need to extend width of the envelope to account for people holding wands?

If they can do them both at once on Taron while they did the theming, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible here.

^ Thanks. I don’t think I have seen a pull through before!

The video showed retractable track fins. I don’t speak German. Why are they retractable?

Hate to insult, but that Taron attraction looks better than any themed coaster in Orlando. It still might be tops in my mind after Potter opens.

Recall on 7 Dwarfs when they used the wrong sized pull through envelope, and ultimately had to redo one or more height areas, after the media previews, so people wouldn't lose raised hands. :yikes:

Not an insult when you speak the truth. Taron is something worth making a trip to ride.

ETA I know it is off topic but Taron sits on a little over 3 acres. Our coaster is on 8 so imagine what that size Taron would be.

The retractable fins are brakes. The ones that they have on the launch section stay lowered until the train passes so that in case of a rollback, it'll be easier to stop. Potter has sets of retractable brakes installed between the LSM fins as well so it has more stopping power in similar situations.

This is a far more complex coaster with the switch tracks, reverse section, drop track and multiple show scenes. This video probably shows Taron a few months before opening and in terms of the coaster, it's a few weeks ahead of where the HP coaster is now.

The coaster section is nearly done but after this, we've got 9 months of heavy theming plus show scenes.

I thought I read somewhere that B&M doesn't do pull throughs

Also, what are the chances one would take place after hours?
