I was able to locate all of the height test balloons. There are a bunch that I missed the first time around. The tallest red balloon to the left leads me to believe that the soundstages behind 22-25 will for sure be getting torn down.

Here's my attempt to pinpoint them on an aerial map.

While true, you also have to remember the Transformers franchise isn't exactly going so well critically and financially, at least for the last movie. So it might not last that long unless the Bumblee movie is doing so well.

So we should expect something like this?

Who knows, it'll depend on if they decided to develop 29/31 for Nintendo (combined that plot could hold a huge showbuilding). and how big the Mario Kart showbuilding will be. That'll determine how many stages will go. But I feel like more are definitely going soon.

HOWEVER, I found an up to date satellite image of Japan's. It's REALLY wedged in there. This current site that is under construction (including the donkey kong dirt lot) is only 5.01 acres. So I do believe we will get the larger Super Nintendo World than Japan if SS28 is included.

How in the world is that only five acres? Kidzone was nine!

Where is Mario Kart ride building going to go? It is a very small space.

Based on the maps, the Mario Kart Ride building seems so small for an E-ticket attraction. USH really needs to remove one or few more soundstages and they're good to go.

One iteration of the engineering plans had MK operating on multiple levels so that is how they would get it into a tighter space. Who knows what they finally came up with.

Kidzone is 6.5 max if you include some of the backstage areas. It's never been 9 acres, that's just a fanboy number lol. This was never meant to be a sprawling land. (below is the 5 acre footprint of Japan's layout over Kidzone.)

It seems like that's the plan. It's looking like Hollywood will get a majorly plussed version of SNW if SS28 is thrown into the mix.

I could have sworn it was 8.8 acres. 3 acres for Mario Kart, 2 acres for the courtyard, and close to four acres for DK.

@Alicia, am I misremembering the acre total?

Didn't someone just say on another thread that 22-25 are for sure being torn down? Or did I dream that?

Didn't they already get torn down? Because I thought those were the CSI-Stages.

Whoops. I meant 16-20. My bad! Those are the ones I assumed would also get torn down soon.

You said Kidzone (assuming you meant currently) was 9 acres, which it isn't. I was talking about the actual size of the existing lands, not the rumored plans. At one point all 3 lands were going to be identical and share this same 5ish acre layout. 3 acres for a single attraction show-building would be ridiculous. That would be two and a half E.T. Adventures lol

Pirates at Shanghai DL has a 2.5 acre showbuilding and that's one of the largest attractions on the planet. I dont see how they'd just be able to squeeze that into Hollywood if all 3 MK rides are the same (which is what's rumored as well).

Yes, the entire permitted area was 8.8 acres total. And MK had the biggest structure by far.

EDIT: Here's the permit where the number is used:

And see in this image how big MK would have been compared to something like Simpsons next door, seems similar in footprint to ET (building behind Simpsons, top-left):

Last I heard they landed on queue/gift shop/preshow readiness rooms on one level, entire ride on a separate level.

Yeah, I saw 6.5 yesterday and I checked and came up with 8.4. Universal uses every square inch!

So if SNW does indeed go on the left side of the lower lot and not the right, does that mean Universal has decided to demolish more soundstages?

Also if/when we get the DK attraction would it be a good fit to back it on to Jurassic World - jungle to jungle so to speak?

Let’s try this again...

My images show the layout of Japan and how it would fit into Hollywood. Notice there are a few major areas which need to be worked around: Lower Lot Parking Garage (Carl Laemmle Bldg), James Stewart Ave, Jurassic Cove Cafe, and Main Street which will need the tram to conitnue access around the land. I have no doubt that some adjustments will have to be made in order to keep Japan’s overall experience and make it fit into Hollywood’s property. I believe Ninetendo is going to get very close to Jurassic Park and Transformers.39CBAEF8-20B4-4BD8-9D3C-8C674E430C4A.jpeg
