If they're not trying to make a deal with GameFreak and Creatures to bring Pokémon in, they're doing something really wrong. Pokémon is gonna sell 30 million+ copies over the next 2 years.

Agreed. Pokemon would shift tonnes for Universal in the parks. Merchandise and also bringing visitors from all over the world. imho it's the perfect IP for a theme park. Interactive, fun, adventurous as well as followed by kids of today and up to probably 30 year olds at the time it came out? We are talking a good 20 years Pokemon has been around now? The fact it still sells units of new iterations to this day as well as the merchandise being "cute" then I think it would be a super smash hit (pardon the pun).

Honestly, it's why I think that Universal needs to tread carefully with Pokemon, if they ever use it.

I think Universal needs to play that IP in particular, more closely to a Potter, as it has the legitimate potential to outsell not only Potter, but Nintendo in crowds, merch, and appeal.

They need to make sure that it can be accessible to everyone, but that it can cater to the die-hard fans of the property, especially as there are quite a few ways to do it right.

So you're thinking almost of something similar to the Epcot KP game they did all around the park?

I’m just here wondering why a property like how you described it can’t anchor the third park.

Pokémon and Zelda should both be anchors of Site B. SNW should stay in KZ. Change my mind.

Zelda isn't anything close to an anchor. Pokémon could maybe do it, but it doesn't have an iconic setting you can plaster on posters like Mario does.

Absolutely, it is a huge IP. I think sometimes people can be in danger of only focusing on how big things are in terms of Orlando (not necessarily people on here but in general). Pokemon is HUGE worldwide. A successful TV show, game, relatively successful movies too of which they keep making more. Pokemon Go I would expect to be a huge thing they can capitalise on within the park in general, but that would need a separate agreement with Niantic as well as GameFreak and Nintendo. A walkthrough Pokemon attraction would also be absolutely awesome with AA's and some sort of mechanism to "catch em all".

Mt. Silver and the Pokemon League are extremely iconic to fans of the franchise tbh. Very recognisable!

A fair point, but I would argue this,

It would give Universal an IP incentive for the northern property, as Potter will of been at Universal Orlando for about 12-13 years to the point of Site B opening.

Mario, is pure evergreen gaming in the best ways possible (and I'd argue DK even though he is a smaller character), but so is Pokemon. Both, are huge gets, and that it would be wise to distance themselves, to allow the best results come into play.

That’s really all it would need. If you’re talking about iconic locations all you need is a poster with a Pokémon Center, a PokéMart, slap in my idea of a Pokémon Stadium and people will get the idea.

I don’t think you need an iconic location for Pokémon. You just say come catch real life Pokémon or something. It would work with a huge poster of charizard and people would come running.

I've played every game in the series and I couldn't tell you what Mt Silver looks like or what the outside architecture of the Pokémon League is. You put those things as icons of a new park and the general population will look at the park and have no clue what they're looking at.

And what will the rides be? None of them are gonna be as exciting as "Ride real like Mario Kart."

How are you gonna pull that off that is in anyway different than what people can already do at home with Pokémon Go?

I can see it now. Pokemon Trainer recruitment centre before you walk in to the land (if it were to be a land). Get a wristband or a pokedex app on your phone. Professor Oak in the queue/load in to a ride. The theming potential is huge, I feel

I’m still baffled though. The distance still would’ve worked with Mario in KZ and Pokémon at Park 3. The plans for Mario were done so why not get started and flesh out Pokémon alongside the rest of the new park?

AA Pokémon and interactive Pokeballs. People don’t play the games for the iconic locations nor will they care when it’s in a theme park. The Pokémon are the sell.

“Go on an actual Pokémon Safari and see real Pokémon!!!”

It’s really very easy. Then you can have some flats.
