Thanks!

From that though, it doesn’t seem any different than what I thought. We will see Nintendo in Japan, Orlando, and Hollywood. From that set, I would think Mario Brothers, nothing saying Kart at all parks, DK, Yoshi, Poke’mon...i’m Just saying I think it was smart armchairing thinking Orlando would be second and I imagine it was in the plans that way...

I also think Comcast knew they could get a settlement w/ issues on the new land....then tax laws changed to encourage investing in growth...

But I do not think they’ve backed off a promised order and timeline as I think the only real ‘announced’ info was that Japan would get the first land/area....

Orlando, Hollywood and Japan from all accounts that I've had (via by contacts of mine), are sharing Mario Kart and Yoshi for the Mushroom Kingdom themed lands.

If I remember correctly it was Nintendo that started talking about the deal. Universal had no intention of announcing anything about it since any attractions were so far off.

Yup, it was Nintendo who pushed it and announced it themselves before Universal Parks and Resorts responded on the UORBlog.

If they’re feeling ambitious take this and put it in a laser tag like setting.

Why not just have, oh I don't know, an actual dark ride with Splatoon, from the people responsible for the motion bases of Drupercharged and Minion Mayhem (Hollywood, darling)? I would love that more than just an interactive play area for Splatoon.

At some point, I want to make a joke, but I feel at this point it'd be stale humor at best.

Well yeah, if they feel like doing the same old same old that they’ve done before with 0 ambition for a unique IP like Splatoon sure.

They do more than Motion Bases..

Setpoint Inc | OVER THE TOP

They've also helped out with the Singapore addition of the Swing Thing ride system for their Jurassic Park area, and have had previous relationships with Universal on Minion and Drupercharged in Hollywood. Not to mention, they have worked with Wanda in China on the Flying Theater installing as-well (EDIT: And also, a Shooting dark ride, using similar tech to Toy Story Mania from DCA, DHS, and TDS).

Perhaps, the saying goes, don't judge a manufacturer by it's cover?

All I’m saying is for the IP about running around shooting paint, let people run around and shoot paint.

So you virtually want a paintball attraction then? Yeah, not happening.

Screw UC, screw F&F, screw Jason Bourne, and screw Harry :x: Potter. They announced Nintendo almost three :x: years ago and I expected shovels in the ground at this point. Of course all the fanboys will wave this aside but god forbid Disney did the same thing they’d be all over them in a heart beat lol.

“How can they be taking so long to build Nintendo?!?!?! It would’ve started already if Universal was doing it!!!!!” :lmao:

^This...... is the exact reason Universal doesn't announce attractions till they are underway. People are impatient AF.

IDK. With the settlement of the land issue, this could go into warp drive. Theres a lot of planning, zoning, and permitting to do, but I could see them starting serious construction by the end of the year. 2022 is reasonable, and 2021 is in play for Hotel/Citiwalk openings.

I just don’t see a major theme park allowing a bunch of people to run around with something to shoot fake paint in an arena. How do you get that many people to stop? Grab equipment and then get another set in? Too much time to do this for a place like Universal.

*sigh* yes, that’s what I want. That’s why I posted the above video that shows real life paintball

Edit: And even if it’s virtual what’s the problem? Oh yeah, can’t have little Timmy lose in the age of participation trophies. My bad.

I was going to be patient. When the announcement came everyone was giving the impression of 2019. 4 years didn’t sound too bad at all. Then that became 2020, then 2021, now it’s 2023 or whenever this :x: park opens. So yeah, I’m getting a bit impatient and I have every right to. Glad to know I’m in the company of total saints though with infinite patience.

If they would have followed their normal path of not announcing things till they are being built you would have been tickled to death when they announced Nintendo as part of the new park.

Yeah it sucks but what can you do? Generally we don't get announcements this early for this very reason. I'm sure they had every intention of it being 2020 or so but once they got more land things changed. I think it was more Nintendo wanting to announce it for some good news since Wii U was awful and trying to show something positive to tell their shareholders who want them to go all-in on mobile to piss off. If it were up to Universal it probably wouldn't even be announced yet.

If they followed their path it would be opening in KidZone in 2021 at the latest.

It’s their loss in the end though because they’ve lost me as an Annual Passholder. I might go up once for the Harry Potter coaster but that’s about it. Everything else in their pipeline is irrelevant to me. I haven’t even gone up for Jimmy Fallon yet and I won’t for F&F either. Disney gets ALL of my money though. They really did trade places with who’s resting on their laurels and I was one of the believers that Uni would hold strong.

Yup. 1000 acres of resting on their laurels sitting down there by the convention center.

They are going to build more "E Tickets" in that one park than Disney is going to build in the next 5 years.

And that park won’t be open for another 6 or more years. Right now, they’re sucking the big one and they’re not worth yearly visits. Disney will be. At least, past Toy Story. I’m still going up for three days starting tomorrow for my little cousin’s first birthday. I’ll make sure to wave at Universal as we pass by. Also I’ll be getting a look at how to announce an amazing groundbreaking land and then actually start building it. I remember when Universal used to do that. Shame.

You are going to go to Disney, that has opened how many new rides in the last 5, or even 15 years?

K

As for 6 years for the new park....

It'll be open before everything Disney announced at D 23.
