I don't think this is a Mack powered Family Invert/suspended. Or any kind of suspended/inverted for that matter.

Save it for a HTTYD ride I say...I'm expecting a launched family coaster

For reference, BGT considers Cheetah Hunt a "family coaster"....We've discussed it before here, but I feel the word "family" is just a buzzword at this point...They have the disposable income after all

Certainly! Both are arguably the best coasters on their properties, with Mummy passing Rockit, in my opinion, based off consistency in smoothness. Mummy was the best air time machine in Florida (save for Dania Beach Hurricane) before Cheetah Hunt and Mako came.
Everest's backwards section is quite forceful and a unique experience compared to any ride I've ever been on. Paired with a fantastic drop, excellent pacing, and one of the best themed experiences Disney has ever created I always rated it quite a way higher than RnRC's fairly plain layout. Not that I don't love RnRC, of course!

Don't get me wrong, I think Mummy and Everest are better coasters than RnRC but RnRC is certainly more thrilling. 0-60 launch and 3 inversions certainly make for a more thrilling experience but not necessarily a better overall one.

It depends on what you mean by "coaster". The coaster segments of Mummy and Everest are ok at best, while RnR coaster is the best at WDW. But the surrounding aspects of Mummy and Everest are significantly better than the cutouts on RnR.

In this case coaster is more of a general term for overall experience. I don’t think you can call any of these rides anything but a coaster. I think Gringotts also falls into this category.

I suppose my view of Mummy and Everest being more "thrilling" than RnRC isn't universally shared  But that's the awesome thing about Orlando, awesome rides for many different palettes: Mummy for air-time, RnRC for inversions, and Everest for a gimmicky ride.
This whole conversation interestingly illustrates the vagueness of Universal's initial statement as to what is considered a family friendly thrill ride. What exactly defines "thrilling" and "family friendly"? It'll be interesting to see what comes of this ride. Everyone seems to have drastically different hopes and expectations.

To me, I don't care what type of coaster it is or how fast it goes. The important part to me will be what type of sets will there be and how many sets will there be. I want something dark and moody but using practical effects. Something like Knockturn Alley the roller coaster.

I think the footers and such are for the elevation change to be face to face with Gwarp.

As soon as Bio calms down from the recent Disney Marathon, we should have pictures…

He normally posts aerials every other Saturday or so. Wouldn’t be surprised to see something from him this weekend.

Would that make RnRC a family ride too?

I think we can rule out this being a B&M if pieces of it are starting to arrive. That manufacturing plant seems to have people outside it posting photos daily.

RnR IS a family ride, you see kids of all ages on it. You also see kids on ToT. Both thrilling rides, both suitable for most ages. Family friendly doesn’t have to be boring. The theming should be spectacular, but if that is the ride system then it might as well be a Disney people mover ride

Disney’s category of Thrill is different from Universal’s.

Both Disney’s and Universals ‘thrill’ level is different than Six Flags.

The “fun for the entire family” line shouldn’t hold anyone up, it’s simply to state that it won’t be as intense as Dragon Challenge.

Exactly, but this ride would fit the Disney thrill description and not universals

I have no idea what level of thrill this will end up being, but when will people learn to never, ever read too much into marketing speak? Don't assume they mean anything outside of getting people to pay attention to a new project.

What is people’s issue with th Mack? People state Universal is lacking in good dark rides and that concept is easily a good darknride mixed with a coaster.
