I agree with @Frogki that a CityWalk or front of park store would be best for this. After all the Potter book sets are sold at the front of the parks.

The surf shop would be a great Nintendo Store space in CityWalk.

I can see them in the giftshops like they got at GameStop sure. Just certainly not in the queues or as attractions themselves.

Certainly not as attractions, but IF they do queueless, not having touchscreen games like in the Fallon queue then have those same games for sale in post ride shop would be a huge waste of potential upsells.

This is about more than just selling games.

So the books that the whole thing is based on are sold at the park? Thanks for agreeing with me.

Except you're ignoring the fact that the books aren't found in the land, nor are the movies... You're in the books and movies, and if you watched them somewhere in the land it would be pretty meta to say the least. Plenty of opportunities to play and sell the games outside the land.

They do have the movie playing in the baby swap of Gringotts though...

I would, instead of having game demos in the queues, have interactive elements that add to your "daily land score".

Yeah, save the demos for the Nintendo store in CityWalk. Maybe Nintendo could even start having their own yearly conventions/events on both coasts.

The holding areas should have games that earn you upgrades for the ride.

Apologies if this has been touched on and I missed it, but any chance we'll see any announcements out of Universal soon? With Disney expected to make a few big announcements at D23, it would be nice to see some counter announcements on Universals part, either with this project or something else (Dragon Challenge...).

I know you can buy the books in in Dervish and Banges, so I'd assume they're sold elsewhere.

Thank you, exactly my point.

So they'll have Nintendo games in the child swap areas. A far cry from saying they'll have areas, shops, and queues with games in it.

Why would someone travel and pay $100 to play the same games they could at home?

This project has ALWAYS been about making the virtual worlds in real life. This would be like having the Wizarding World open with reading areas and a theater to show the films.

But I am a dreamer. I've seen glasses or something on TV were someone was able to play MARIO in the real would with AG.

I mean more of rooms instead of preshows. Where folks see an element, like the way they gather to see the Rag Time Gals...maybe something else for those that do not care...my only point is being in a queless room instead of a queue or a preshow...like how Gringrots has the AA's in the bank lobby...time to explore.

To me, if you could virtual queue all, you can have 'rooms' with eliments timed like pre shows....let people enjoy waiting in the world brought to life!

I don't think anyone was against the concept of the virtual, exploration/interactive queue. What we were saying is they aren't going to have you play the latest Mario game as you wait, because you're just going to be in the game - in the same way you are in Gringotts bank. So you might deal with Goombas, or Piranha Plants, or you might interact with Toads. But again, people can play the game anywhere - having them play a console game, even by virtual reality, would feel cheap to me. Let's make things that people could never do at home, and make them wanna purchase the latest Mario game in the gift shop. Let them demo the games at a Nintendo Store outside the land, or even at the land's bigger gift shop (or at the Universal Store in the vein of the Potter books and films).
I don't think anyone here really disagreed with the basis of your point Frank - just the idea of playing the games themselves in queue when there are opportunities to allow guests a much deeper, richer experience of the world than they have already gotten by playing the games.

Technically anyone can play the latest games in the queues.

As long as they have a Switch ;)

I'm not sure if this has been touched on, but in the 3D renderings I saw a couple pages back there was one of spectators near the end of the race. I'm not sure if this would be possible with ride systems and stuff, but wouldn't it be awesome if they set up a viewing area for either virtual queue or just an additional attraction. That way those who can't ride/don't want to ride/just want a break from the sun can come inside and watch some races. I know I would do that 24/7!!:)

Hmmm. What should we discuss then.

How sure are we that ET is staying AND that we're still getting all 3 rides for phase one?

I'll start. 100% sure.

No telling what might happen down the road, but ET is safe until at least after SNW phase 1 opens. That gives it several more years (and probably a few more after as well, at least.)

And I'll reaffirm what I think when it comes to whether ET should stay, which; it shouldn't.

What kind of dining options can we expect in SNW? Mushroom burgers? Turtle soup?

How would you theme a restaurant in the heart of the Mushroom Kingdom?

I think they should do Super Mario Bento Boxes.

It's a step above just naming the stuff after Mario characters, since it looks like them too. And speaking of naming food after Mario characters, I'm partial to the idea of Koopasta with Goomballs myself.

More: Cheep Cheep Tacos with fried Blooper Rings. Big Boo's BBQ Burger with Shy Guy Fries. Petey Piranha Salad with Yoshi's Island Dressing, Rosalina's Rotisserie Chicken, Birdo's Bob-omb Poppers, Waluigi Wahhhhntons... etc., etc. you get the idea.
