here is the main problem with reserve. Each phone in your party can reserve spots so if all ten people have phones then the 10 people could take up 100 spots.

My parents were raving about it at dinner on Saturday. They finally got to do Kong too, and they hated that (granted they were in the first row.) But they absolutely loved Fallon. Would not shut up about how great the ride is.

That's absolutely adorable.

Well DM does good on GSAT so i'd expect no different. This is a ride that pretty much the whole family can do together, has entertainment in the queue and is themed to the beloved Tonight Show brand, currently starring Jimmy Fallon, who appeals to people of all ages.

They were going to have to try really hard to have this thing get bad GSAT scores

I'm surprised, but not surprised. If that makes sense.

I'm not too surprised... this ride is tailor-made for the general public. Hell, I won't even be surprised if Supercharged scores well.

Finally got to ride it. The screen is massive. The ride speed is a bit slow, but lots of stuff to see. 7/10.

Heh, what happened to all of those negative reviews we were supposed to start hearing about? Except for a few, this has been positive since day one. As I always say, Trust in the General Public. They know what they like. :) Fun & entertainment always wins out in the end. After all, these are Theme Parks, not University Engineering or Literature departments.

I think it's easy for us to :poop: on because we've maybe been assuming Universal would just keep upping the ante with every new attraction pretty much since Harry Potter opened. But this was clearly meant to be something whose primary function was to fulfill some capacity needs for the park, that just needed to be a general crowdpleaser and get some cross-promotion with NBC out of the deal, too. Steve Burke said the parks would be getting a big new attraction each year, not necessarily a groundbreaking, mind-bending tour de force each year.

Over-trust in the general public is the perfect strategy to trainwrecking a business. The GP doesn't know what they want.

Not true. A business needs to figure out what the general public wants, and then deliver. The halls of bankrupt companies are filled with companies that "thought" they had the products the GP would buy, but then nobody bought them. And sometimes there's an undercurrent demand, and if no product exists to fill it, then the company that invents the product becomes a winner.....Elitism is not a good trait in business.

I would say it's true in a sense. Steve Jobs frequently referenced a quote from Henry Ford that was basically, if I had listened to customers I would have made a better horse. The true talent lies in being able to figure out what your customers are going to want before they realize it themselves. That doesn't mean you're not listening to them, but rather you're anticipating what they will want. I think this attraction actually is a great example of delivering on that. If they had asked in surveys about a Jimmy Fallon ride I don't think they would have gotten a huge amount of interest, most people seemed to think it was kind of a strange concept. Most of the general public as well as those of us who follow theme parks more heavily probably would not have suggested putting entertainment in the queue. They also developed a virtual queue that works much better than Disney's even with years of development. This attraction took something that really not many people wanted and made it overwhelmingly popular and also did it in a new innovative way that will likely be the basis of many future attractions.

You don't survey the GP in the design phase, you survey them after they get off of new rides. Figure out what they liked and what they didn't and then use that info in the design phase of your next project.

You don't ask them what they want, you ask them what they liked.

GSAT is still independent from what is considered good design and taste. Horizons got low guest survey results but every Disney fan obsesses over it and is widely considered well designed and good.

I've said I didn't like it but could see where other people would probably like it. As far as GP, I'm surprised because they seem to enjoy this but didn't enjoy Kong because screens so

Side note: Heaven forgive everyone has different tastes.
