There is no normal for a ride that has a new ride system that has never had a full compliment of cars on it. Someone may have theoretical or planned specs.

Do we know how many vehicles normally cycle in total? Or at least guesses from those who understand normal ride optics more?

I have seen the number 12 being thrown around as what they're trying to get to, but that's just from folks on twitter.

Yeah, I would be very curious to see what their planned/expected capacity per hour versus the actual capacity per hour for all the rides in the park. I'd wager their early days are much less than planned (which is normal), but I'm sure there's some number that they are driving to hit by opening day.

This is a ostensibly a thoroughly modern park with modern ride design, and the knowledge that they will have a large number of guests. It's going to be very interesting to see how this park absorbs the crowds, especially because the one way in/out design may make the park feel much more crowded than it is.

Here's my question. If Ministry is only ready to operate 7 or 8 vehicles, do they just say "screw it" and open it anyways? I imagine that the capacity hit would be better than the backlash they would get if the ride isn't available on opening day.

It's a fair question, but I'd also point out that we went from them not being able to run it with more than two vehicles to them now attempting five. It may not reach full intended capacity by opening day, but barring catastrophic failures (and nothing's impossible), I'm assuming it'll run.

If this happens I think we'll be looking at a virtual line situation :(

Sounds like when Hagrid's opened, and that was a huge sh*t show. See a problem they could run into with this ride IF it has like 4+ hour waits due to capacity, is that they have lots of people who are there for multiple days, BUT only have 1 day at Epic. I can just see people complaining big time. This is where their what I'm calling a ticket scheme could backfire on them big time. Those people who bought a multi-day ticket, with only 1 day at Epic, are not going to be happy if rides are experiencing lots of downtime.

But would it really be better if it's not there at all? It's all over the marketing material and it's too late to back down now. It would be a next level marketing disaster.

Oh definitely not saying that. I'm taking a shot at how they are doing the ticket roll more than anything else.

Yes, they HAVE to have it open on May 22nd. Your exactly right, they have used the ride too much in marketing to not have it open.

Non-Epic TMs have been in the park for under two weeks, and we're a little under three months out from opening. I think they expect to solve these issues and don't want to think about contingency plans.

I'm still patiently waiting to hear about AP previews. Logic says they have to be pretty soon right?

I've told everyone at work that all my April meetings are tentative at best, and any one of them could be cancelled at any time dependent on if I'm able to snag an AP preview reservation, lol. I don't think they realize I'm not joking

When EPCOT had its soft opening (a week before Oct 1) I had just arrived at work when I received a call from a friend "They're not announcing it but if you have a ticket <which I did - the souvenir one> you can get into Epcot after 4pm today". I promptly advised my boss I was leaving. He asked why, as I had just arrived. "Epcot is opening at 4" My boss, who'd put up with my obsession with the park, simply sighed and said "Just go" :D

I am glad someone is like me, everyone, including the CEO, at my work has been notified that on any given day for the next few weeks I could need to either a) get my preview ticket or b) get on a plane to go to previews and no I don't care what meeting it is I am missing to do this

It's funny, the only review threads who have more than a few posts are Dark Universe/Monsters Unchained.

The rest of the park sucks confirmed /s
