Fair points well made. Once open I'm sure guest experience to book will be much more seamless.

I guess universal just hopes whatever bad-will is created because of this is short-lived. Or at least overshadowed for those who do end up going and have a great time.

My concern, like @Disneyhead pointed out, is that single day tix will finally go on sale and be gone immediately.

Of course, we're going in September.. but it's still a concern lol

You can't buy opening day with a package now. Can you get one anywhere at this point? I wouldn't bet on them selling single days for that day at this point. Otherwise, whenever they do release single days and expanded packages, I'd definitely not dawdle on the purchase page.

Coming from UK we had a 3 week trip planned, Epic was the big draw. Staying 2 weeks Universal, 1 Disney. When they announced tickets come with just 1 epic day, we downgraded to just a week at Universal in total, hoping to maybe visit in 2026 when it settles down.

Of the 7 park days, we’ve now bought Disney After Hours ticket and will also spend that same daytime in Disney. If they’re not quick with single day tickets, we’ll probs do another mixed day at Disney too. We did plan on doing all week at Universal really.

I’m a planner so probably a week until I commit to a AK day and Epcot night instead of a second day at Epic. Didn’t really have Disney on the cards for this trip but something feels…flat…going to Universal Studios with its 20 simulators with the shiny new park you can’t play in over the road

You can still buy the 3-day package, the only package that doesn’t have May 22 available is the one that includes Volcano Bay.

Isn’t it weird?

The VB option is the 3 Day 4 Park Park-to-Park at the top of the ticket page — maybe people defer to that choice and each choice has its own “bucket” of supply.

Last I checked Helios is fairly available. If people are indeed buying these multi day tickets in droves , wouldn’t the hotels nearby have less availability ?

For which dates? I just checked for 2-night stays with starting dates from the 22-25, and nothing was available.

EDIT: The 3rd weekend finally showed me availability.

People may value the Express Pass from the big three over the location of Helios. After having been to the park on a really busy day (last Monday) all I kept thinking was the Express Pass is worth the higher price of those room at RP, HR, Portofino.

I can understand the frustration for those who like to plan every detail and know they are safe with their days way beforehand. I guess my family didn’t mind the uncertainty.

My sister’s family of 5, my other sisters family of 3, my mom, some of my cousins and me all purchased our four night stay at Helios and three day park package with one day at Epic. When the single day tickets get released we will simply each buy one day epic tickets.

We will be going in September for hhn, so maybe that is the difference, but I probably would have done the same for the summer if I was willing to miss out on hhn.

That's something I don't understand. If you're having to buy a multi day resort ticket. Why would you want to stay at an Epic hotel?

For me, being able to walk out straight into the park for two days (once single day tickets are released) was enough for me to stay at Helios.

Plus, just being able to be really close to celestial at night and enjoy the hotel was another reason.

Man, I would love to be a fly on the wall for some management meetings for the various divisions of UO. It does look like hotel availability is pretty open for the summer as a whole. This is right in line with what some travel agent friends have told me, that bookings for UO/Epic are not as strong as they what they thought they would be. Also, some news outlets are reporting that their "sources" have told them bookings are not as good as projected. Now, the travel agents also said that there are "a bunch" of people waiting to book summer and fall vacations once all tickets options are released. So we will see what happens.

For us personally, we're planning to split our week. Epic days at Stella Nova, the rest of the week at Cabana Bay.

But the way the week falls, we will have 1 non-Epic day at Stella Nova.

Obviously nobody on here. However, you would be surprised on the amount of people who think things like Harry Potter is in Disney.

With the exception of some HHN weeks, there's some really good Universal on site hotel pricing available for most of the year. That says a lot.

I never do - but my wife's parents/grandparents exclusively use travel agents. The older generations definitely tend to use them more I think.

They can be extremely helpful for Disney trips, securing lightning lanes and dining reservations and all the stressful stuff that’s too complicated for most life forms on earth.
