Wicked: The Experience coming to UOR

I think Moana 2 will do OK, but if parents have to choose one, they choose Wicked simply because they know Moana will show up on Disney+ in a few weeks. I think Wicked is also an event movie, really made for the big screen.

Holy crap— they have sold through so much of the merchandise already! We went to buy a couple of things and a lot of stuff is already sold out.

Interestingly they are selling the dolls with the naughty website on the box but they cover it with a sticker. They’re also selling them at more than twice what Walmart and Target sold them for. Supposedly Mattel instructed retailers to destroy/dispose of the dolls because of the packaging error, but apparently Universal chose to just cover it up…

This pretty much all but confirms some sort of wicked attraction or land is destined for a Universal park.

Eh, I don't think we should get ahead of ourselves here. It's obviously something Wicked related, but it could be a wide variety of things.

Probably jumped the gun to a degree in saying Wicked is getting a full fledged land or attraction. It could (more likely) be some sort of live show or more substantial meet n greet.

Then if part 2 makes bank, (very likely) you can start to seriously have discussions at doing a full fledged land or attraction. Perhaps they already have rough drafts and locations for that.

This is a very, very good comment.

Imagine this being the penultimate sequence, maybe after a Harry Potter one...? "Turn to page 394," says Snape, and you cut to a classroom scene in Wicked - They could do bits of "Dancing Through Life", "Popular" and end with "Defying Gravity". At "Everyone Deserves the chance to FLY!" you have your wrap-up montage of scenes from earlier in the show: Harry, the DeLorean, E.T., Gru and the Moon, etc. and transition into an original song finale. The Elphaba battle cry gets pasted to the end of the original song, just like "Part Of Your World" is pasted to the end of "World of Color".

Defying Gravity fits Cinesational perfectly. Have the drones flying away to end the show. This is THE easiest upper management decision possible. Wicked will surely be included at some point.

Universal’s Theme Parks, Long in Disney’s Shadow, Expand at Dizzying Pace

Universal is going after Disney, the industry leader, with new parks in Florida and Texas: “We want people to think of us first.”

Yes. I read that article earlier today. Always nice to have a NY Times and Wash. Post subscription. Anyway, that same comment jumped out at me. Sounds like Wicked will come hither even before GB.
