The Variety article also states that Joe and Anthony are being paid 80 million for the two films as well. If we low ball it and presume Downey is being paid $100 million dollars for both films, then the budgets for these films is already at least 90 million each in above the line talent costs.

I mean the last set of Avenger films were the most expensive film films ever until Avatar 2 came along. I think we can safely assume this set of films will be the most set of films possibly by far when released.

It'll be a crazy budget, but I guess you can invest that much when the expected box office will be north of $3 billion for each movie.

Take this with a grain of salt, but they are apparently rumors that Marvel wants to cast Tom Cruise as a multiverse variant of Iron Man. That would be an interesting contrast to RDJ coming back as Doctor Doom.

Tom Cruise was the original pick to play Iron Man before Jon Favreau convinced Marvel to go with RDJ so I wouldn't be surprised if he's included as a cameo, similar to one of the cameos in DP&W. A character who essentially died before they were born.

A creatively-bankrupt choice, and a tacit admission on Disney's part that many of the new(er) characters are not strong enough draws to carry an AVENGERS film.

Presumably Scarlett Johansson's casting announcement is imminent, as well, because we simply must futz around with all of the perfect send-offs that ENDGAME provided.

Feels like Marvel has entered their strip-mining phase. It'll be very lucrative for a few years (E.g. Deadpool 3 and this) but then what'll come after? Clearly there isn't much confidence in the next generation of heroes.

I think they know the FF and X-Men will be the torchbearers for their next MCU chapters so might as well rip the band-aid off and conclude these stories with some cheat codes.

The vibe I’m getting from this movie is that they’re going to throw everything and the kitchen sink at the wall and see what sticks. I hope I’m wrong but with all the decisions Marvel has been making lately, I don’t have a lot of confidence this is going to be great.
